Sorry that you’re still on KitKat; when was your phone released? I got Lollipop in February; surprising, since my phone model is two years old (HTC One M7).

It’s pretty nifty... Not really a salve for all the actual issues that seem to pop up on a semi-regular basis, but nifty nonetheless. I just wish they’d sort the problem with text boxes/autocorrect going all weird when trying to comment on a mobile device.

This doesn’t really have anything to do with Kinja - it’s more of a boneheaded Apple thing - but I desperately wish there were some equivalent of Android’s file system view for when you hit the ‘Insert Image’ button on an iOS device. As is, it’s an arse to post pictures from Dropbox, and flat-out impossible to post any .gifs.

This wouldn’t really be an issue for me - I’m all Nexus, all the time at the mo - but I really want to replace my seven inch Android tablet with something 9-inch plus, and I can’t find any decent options on the Android side, no matter how hard I look. The iPad looks nice, but iOS just isn’t my jam.

Go to Settings -> More -> About Device, and rapidly tap on the ”Android Version” button 5-10 times. A cool Easter egg will come up. Start tapping rapidly again and another cool screen will come up. Long press on that screen and the coolest screen of all will pop up.

Hopefully, my mom, sister, and I will upgrade in December (we upgraded after 1 year, 8 months before), so the worry of an outdated operating system won’t be a problem.

But seriously, thanks for letting me know about that! Looking at these comments, I’m glad y’all know your phones. I live in a land where it’s iPhone only and terms like “Lollipop”, for Android, have never been heard.

He is talking about the game installed in devmode on Lollipop. Instead of the KitKat screen you get on 4.4.4 you get a jumping game to play

I’ve looked into them, and they would present a fairly appealing option, but the performance just isn’t there on the current generation. Samsung’s Exynos Octa processors aren’t even as powerful as my aging Nexus 5’s Snapdragon 800, and TouchBloat doesn’t help matters.

Sadly, I am. Since the little android guy moves like he's jumping, you have to time it just right so he squeezes through the obstacle openings. Best I could do was one time.
